Cake
1 16oz canned pumpkin (will only use about half, or 240g)
80ml extra virgin olive oil
80ml whole milk
3tsp baking powder
280g flour
4 eggs
240g sugar
2tsp vanilla
3d cake mold
Frosting
4 tbsp butter (1/2 stick)
~120g powdered sugar
~20ml whole milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
do NOT dust the cake mold with olive oil and flour, try only greasing with butter? the flour does not look good on top of the cake.
loosely cover the base of the cake mold in 2 layers of foil, this is to hopefully avoid having the cake dome.
preheat oven to 350FÂ
mix eggs and sugar together in a large bowl
add pumpkin, milk, olive oil, and vanilla
continue mixing and add the flour and baking powder together
pour 1/4 of the mixture into each of the molds
bake for 30 - 35 minutes, check if its done by cutting a small hole using a knife.
once done cool in mold for 10 minutes then remove to cooling rack, and cool completely, several hours
to make frosting, use a fork to combine butter and sugar
add vanilla and milk and continue to mix
add additional sugar or milk to create the correct consistency for frosting
add to a plastic bag with corner cut off for piping
level the bottom of the cake pieces by removing any dome that may have formed
fix the bottom layer of the cake to the plate using some frosting
use 1/4 layer of frosting between layers of cake
spray paint the cake if desired, would advise against using orange (it is very neon), try black?
decorate the top of the cake by outlining the stem and leaf
